D2DL Capacity building project

Community Mental Health Australia (CMHA) has been contracted by the Department of Health and Ageing to undertake a capacity building project. VICSERV, as a CMHA member, is currently involved in the project roll-out.

The purpose of this national capacity building project is to improve outcomes for people with mental illness through the provision of service development opportunities for community mental health organisations with a focus on the D2DL Program and other Commonwealth funded providers.

The purpose of this project will be achieved through the pursuit of the following goals:

  • Increase linkages amongst D2DL providers and other parts of the community mental health sector, including primary mental health care services
  • Increase information exchange amongst D2DL agencies and the mental health sector broadly
  • Identify, document and promote good practice in D2DL funded agencies
  • Support D2DL providers to further develop their workforce, in collaboration with other community mental health providers
  • Strengthen and promote the participation of D2DL service users in organisational planning, management and evaluation.

The VICSERV contact for this project is Wendy Smith, Policy and Research Manager. You can send Wendy an email or call her on 03 9519 7000.
