Accreditation

Accreditation Requirements for a PDRS service

There are a number of requirements for a PDRS service to become accredited in Victoria. These requirements are established through Quality Standards, (e.g. the QIC Core Standards) as well as governmental standards such as the National Standards for Mental Health Services and associated guidelines).

The new National Standards for Mental Health Services and Implementation guidelines for non-government community services were released in September 2010. Both supersede the 2004 PDRS Standards which were based on the previous National Standards. Even though the PDRS Standards are now superseded they still remain an important quality improvement tool.

For services accredited or seeking accreditation through QICSA please note that the 5th Edition QIC Health and Community Services Standards has now ceased. As of 1st January 2011 the QIC Health and Community Services Standards (6th Edition) are the only QIC standards in use.
